Faith Crawlers - Infants up to age 2
Care is provided during the 9 and 11am services in the upstairs nursery.
We currently use the nursery curriculum Sunlight Kids. Because the young ones love songs and repetition, one foundational Bible story is taught throughout each month. Routine events are reinforced with repeated activities and songs. Because we understand that many babies and toddlers need familiar caregivers, we strive to have consistent volunteers in our nursery.*
Faith Steps - Age 2 through Preschool
Classes begin at 9 and 11 am in the preschool classrooms downstairs.
We teach a simple lesson to the children and provide lots of play time for the kids. We use the curriculum Walk with Me to share forty foundational Bible stories throughout the year. Our youngest Faith Steps class also incorporates some of the same songs and learning ideas from the Faith Crawlers class, in order to ease their transition. Again, recruiting consistent volunteers is a top priority. Faith Steps teachers and assistants commit to serving for the entire school year.*
Faith Trek - Kindergarten through Grade 6
Offered at the 9 and 11 am services. Children attend worship with their parents and are released for Faith Trek by the worship leader.
The elementary children go on a “Faith Trek” each Sunday by participating in a Workshop Rotation Model program. Each class rotates through six multiple intelligence, hands-on workshops over a six week period; during the unit, each workshop is related to a particular Biblical concept. On the seventh week, they have “Celebration Sunday” to wrap-up the unit and celebrate what they have learned with their class. Each class has an adult Guide who participates in the “Faith Trek” with them, providing consistency, building relationships and discussing what they learn at each workshop. Workshops are led by a variety of individuals, depending on the skill sets required to run each activity. Workshops vary from unit to unit and therefore so do workshop facilitators.*
*All Faith Kidz volunteers are carefully screened through an application and interview process; they also must agree to and pass a criminal background check before working with our children.
