Elder Spotlight | Brian Sullivan
If you've ever been around Brian Sullivan for more than about 60 seconds, you know that he is a passionate, energetic, outspoken guy who loves God and people. He, his wife, and their five kids are actively engaged at Wintonbury and in the various other communities where they do life. To give you the opportunity to get to know Brian better, we asked him a few questions. His answers (with just a wee bit of editing on my part) are below:

How did you end up at Wintonbury?
I was a full-time Youth Pastor at the Congregational Church of Windsor Locks for over 10 years. During my time there, I built relationships with Andre and Dave Ambrose as we did numerous ministries together including The Hartford Project. So, when it was God’s will for my family and I to leave that church, we felt led to check out Wintonbury because of those strong relationships.
In which ministries do you serve at Wintonbury?
- Elder Board (since 2017)
- Youth Ministry, serving weekly as a Discipleship Group Leader
- Preaching Team, preaching during the Sunday worship services when pastors are unavailable
- Life Group Leader, leading a discipleship small group every other week
What do you like most about serving in these ways?
I love discipling, teaching, encouraging, and coaching anyone in living for Christ; I love bringing the Word of God to others in a real and dynamic way.
How have you seen or experienced God at work?
I see students growing in their love and knowledge of the Lord as well as students helping each other grow closer to Christ. I have seen the Lord develop great community among the students and adults I meet with; we love each other and are there for each other. I have seen the Lord lead our Life Group to serve together in ministry. I have seen the Lord use me in preaching to encourage others in their faith and knowledge of Christ
Well, there you have it! We hope you enjoyed getting to know Brian a little better. Feel free to say 'hi' to him on Sunday mornings. He, and all the elders, enjoy getting to know the people they serve.
