Since August 2018, Faith Franklin has served in a part-time capacity as the Interim Children’s Ministry Coordinator after our Children’s Ministry Director, Traci Schultz, moved home to the state of Washington. During the past year, Faith has been a great addition to our team and we are happy to report that in May she accepted the position of Children’s Ministry Director! Faith has over 20 years of experience working with children professionally, as a volunteer, and as a mom. She is also gifted in administration and organization, making her an excellent fit for her current role.

Below, Faith shares in her own words about her background, her love for children and family ministry, and what she’s looking forward to this year:

I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and have been working with children for a little over 20 years, much of it in child care centers as a Head Teacher. I have been serving in Children’s Ministry at Wintonbury for about 14 years between teaching, helping to coordinate volunteers, and working as an assistant to the prior Children’s Ministry Director, Traci.

I have always felt called to work with children. I have learned along the way that it’s not just the children that bring me joy but I also love working with the children’s families as well. I enjoy coming alongside parents to help create and foster a love for Jesus, helping them train their child to walk in His ways.

I look forward to building relationships with the children of Wintonbury and their families. My hope for this year is to begin integrating a buddy system for special needs children in the classrooms. My goal is to develop a team that can work closely with those families to create an individualized plan for children requiring extra assistance in the classroom.
