BACKPACK MINISTRY

Every summer, Wintonbury fills backpacks with pens, pencils, notebooks, USB drives, and more and distributes them to children in need in our congregation, town and region. We have provided backpacks to over 100 students each year!

Jr/High School Backpacks

Jr High and High School Backpack content list is below, and each backpack should contain the following items:

• 1 Backpack

• 1 package of Pencils – Ticonderoga/Dixon brands – 10 or more per pack

• 1 package of Pens – BIC or Papermate (black/blue) – 10 or more per pack

• 5 - One Subject Spiral-bound Notebooks (college-ruled) – 100 sheets or more please

• 5 - Pocket Folders – 2 pockets/no design, multi colors

• 1 package of Crayola 12 count Magic Markers – Fine Tip

• 1 package of Crayola 12 count Color Pencils

• 1 - Pencil Sharpener

• 1 - Elmer’s Glue Stick

• 2 - Highlighters – can be multiple colors

• 1 - big Eraser

• 1 package of Index Cards – standard with lines

• 1 - 12-inch Ruler

• 1 - Toothbrush

• 1 - Toothpaste

• 1 - travel package of tissues

• 1 - Purell Hand Sanitizer 1 oz

• Scientific Calculators

• Ear buds

Grammar School Backpacks

Grammar School Backpack content list is below, and each backpack should contain the following items:

• 1 - child-sized backpack

• 1 - Pencil Box - & put in it:

  • 1 package of Pencils – Ticonderoga/Dixon brands

  • 1 package of Pens – BIC or Papermate (black or blue)

  • 1 Highlighter

  • 1 package Crayola 12 Washable Magic Markers

  • 1 package Crayola 24 Crayons

  • 1 Pencil Sharpener

  • 1 Elmer’s Glue Stick

  • 1 big Eraser

  • 1 children’s scissor

• 1 - One Subject spiral-bound notebook – 100 sheets or more please

• 2 - Pocket Folders – 2 pockets folder/no design, multi colors

• 1 - 12-inch Ruler

• 1 package Crayola Construction Paper – 50 sheets or more please

• 1 - Toothbrush

• 1 - Toothpaste

• 1 - travel package of tissues

• 1 - Purell Hand Sanitizer 1 oz
